“These Things”- The Productive Christian Life
2nd Peter 1:8
“If these things be in you and abound”
1.  I will always be fruitful

    A.  I will be fruitful

    B.  I will have spiritual discernment

    C.  Will need doubt my salvation

    D.  I will never fall as a Christian

     a.  Virtue - V5 Moral unrighteousness- excellent living- productive

     b.  Knowledge- V5- understanding of truth and how we live

     c.  Temperance - Vs 6- self -control - I don’t do as I please

     d. Patience V6 - Endurance

Provision on the Other Side of Obedience
2 Kings 4:1-7  (The Widow’s Oil)

  1. What do you have? Our provision begins with what we already have

  2. What you have is enough when you respond in obedience (unlock the provision with obedience) 

  3. God fill what you make room for- God has an unlimited supply

Joy
Luke 2: 8-14
Nehemiah 8:10
The joy of the lord is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the confidence that ultimately everything is going to e alright and the deterimined choice to praise God in every situation. 

  1. God’s joy dwells in me when I fully comprehend that He wants me to live in Joy.  John 15:11 “My joy remain in you and that your joy may be full”

  2. God’ not dwells in me when I comprehend the magnitude of His love for me.  Hebrews 12:2  “who for the joy that was set before Him to the cross” ; Zephaniah 3:17  ...”He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

  3. God’s joy swells in me when I love righteousness and hate evil.  Hebrews 1:9 “You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness… God has anointed You with the oil of gladness”

  4. God’s joy swells in me when it is not circumstantial I Peter 1:8 “Who having

God Pleasing Faith
Hebrews 11:6-
1.  Facing the future without knowing the “what” - V 7 Noah prepared the ark for the salvation of his household
2.  Following God’s leading without knowing where -V 8-10 Abraham was called to go to his inheritance- not knowing where he was going
3.  Waiting for God’s timing without knowing when- V 8-10 Even after Abraham reached the Land promised him, he lived by faith
4.  Expecting a miracle without knowing “how”- V 11-12 By faith Abraham and Sarah was able to have a child even when they were old and Sarah was barren
5.  Trusting God’s purpose without knowing why- V19- Abraham was going to offer Isaac
6.  Continues to persist without knowing how long- V 24-26 Moses refused to be the son of Pharoah’s daughter - regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ
