Genesis 3:1-13

1 Now the serpent was more shrewd than any of the wild animals that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Is it really true that God said, 'You must not eat from any tree of the orchard'?" 2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit from the trees of the orchard; 3 but concerning the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the orchard God said, 'You must not eat from it, and you must not touch it, or else you will die.'" 4 The serpent said to the woman, "Surely you will not die, 5 for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will open and you will be like divine beings who know good and evil." 6 When the woman saw that the tree produced fruit that was good for food, was attractive to the eye, and was desirable for making one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some of it to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them opened, and they knew they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God moving about in the orchard at the breezy time of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the orchard. 9 But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, "Where are you?" 10 The man replied, "I heard you moving about in the orchard, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid." 11 And the Lord God said, "Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?" 12 The man said, "The woman whom you gave me, she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it." 13 So the Lord God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" And the woman replied, "The serpent tricked me, and I ate."

Don't Pour Water on that Fire

Don't Pour Water on that Fire
AM PCF C. Cleveland 10/27/13

The Holy Spirit is a consuming fire.
When we get saved, the Holy Spirit takes up residence and consumes our life!! His love and goodness spreads.

He has come in to our lives to set us on fire.

Does our vision of the Christian life match God's design?
...
The design of God is that we become over comers, pull down strongholds, be victorious.

Do not quench the Spirit. (I Thessalonians 5:19 NKJV)

-Quench is what we do to the Holy Spirit.
-Grieve is how the Holy Spirit responds when we quench Him.

He grieves because He knows there is a better way and will for your life and you are headed down the wrong path!

Quench- extinguish, stifle.

Not only do we put the fire out in our own lives, we put the fire out in others' lives as well.

Quit putting the fire out!! Let it burn baby burn!

1. The Holy Spirit wants to comfort and strengthen us.
John 16:7-14

Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you. And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they believe not on me; of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye behold me no more; of judgment, because the prince of this world hath been judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, these shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall take of mine, and shall declare it unto you. (John 16:7-14 ASV)
