The Heart of a Lion: Facing Down Your Fears

​Proverbs 28:1

The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

1. Remember your proud ancestry
a. Ancestry refers to a person's ethnic origin or decent, roots, or heritage, or the place of birth of the person or the person's parents.
b. Revelation 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
2. Remember the foundation for boldness is righteousness.
a. How to stand with boldness
i. Confidence
ii. Courage
iii. Fearlessness
iv. Daring
3. Remember you have to work hard at becoming a loving lion.
a. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 

The Maker of Fishers of Men

Matthew 4:18-19

18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

We become fishers of men by following Jesus' conduct/model:
1. Jesus modeled profound grace.
2. Jesus modeled enormous lobe for humanity.
3. Jesus modeled an intense and frequent prayer time with the Father.
4. Jesus modeled a supernatural ability to forgive.
5. Jesus modeled the awareness of a literal burning hell.
6. Jesus modeled the urgency of time.

The Fire No One Desires; The Results Everyone Wants

Job 23: 3&10

  1. God had His eyes on Job in the fire and had not forgotten him.
  2. God had a purpose in the fire and it wasn't punishment.​
  3. God will bring this fire to an end. (I shall come forth)​
  4. God will bring something good from the fire. (I shall come forth as gold)​
  5. God valued Job as a precious metal.​

How To Launch Out Into The Deep

1 Corinthians 2:9-16 

Have you ever felt a time that God was calling you into a deeper relationship with Him?  

  1. Five words to guide us 

    1. Focus 

    2. Seek 

    3. Accept 

    4. Evaluate 

    5. Think 

  2. 1.Focus on what God has prepared . (9) 

    1. 1."What God has prepared for those who love Him." 

    2. 2.Some Christians have the false assumption that the only victory is in death.  

  3. 2.Seek to know the inner working of the Holy Spirit. (10) 

    1. 1."But God has revealed them to us by His spirit." 

    2. 2.Some Christians are always looking and searching in the wrong places.  

  4. 3.Accept what the holy spirit is telling you. (12) 

    1. 1."We might know the things that are freely given to us." 

    2. 2.Some Christians are always quenching the truth.  

  5. 4.Evaluate your salvation. (14) 

    1. 1."But the natural man does not receive the things of God." 

    2. 2.Some people wonder why they never get it.  

  6. 5.Think with the mind of Christ. (16) 

    1. 1."We have the mind of Christ." 

    2. 2.Some Christians are always using human logic.
